The day of the match has finally arrived, and of course Tatsuya has some special tricks up his sleeve. While some people had their doubts about Tatsuya’s chances, Miyuki has absolute faith in her onii-sama! (more…)
It’s taken 14 long episodes, but I’m actually starting to get excited for this series. The new OP had a lot more action in it which makes me hopeful for the rest of the series. We’ve primarily been focusing on the school aspect of Mahouka but it’s been established that there are a lot of different political and social aspects involved. I’m hoping to see these students being thrown into the real world and how they’ll have to fend for themselves. (more…)
Black Bullet was probably one of my most anticipated series going into the season. Unfortunately, there were a lot of things that I wish would have gone differently (but I’ll talk about that later). The last episode just aired and I have to say, it didn’t feel like a season finale to me. They left so many things open (even though the source is ongoing) and the series just abruptly ends. (more…)
The episode starts off with a solid 7+ minutes of the cast stroking Tatsuya’s ego. He’s been able to secure multiple victories for their school through his advanced engineering abilities and the other schools have taken notice. While they want to give him even more recognition, Tatsuya turns down the opportunity to be listed as the creator of Kitayama’s spell. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about magic, can read and deconstruct spells with ease, but he’s unable to cast them as efficiently as everyone else. (more…)
I figured I’d give No Game No Life it’s own post to discuss my thoughts on the series as a whole. Looking back before the season started, NGNL didn’t really stand out much. The synopsis seemed pretty standard and not many people expected much from it. Now, NGNL seems to be one of (if not the biggest) most well received shows of the season. But before I get into my thoughts on why it completely blew me away, I’ll briefly touch on the final episode. (more…)
Oh boy, a lot of things were covered within this episode. The pacing issues that have plagued the series has my jimmies rustled once again. I thought Pleiades would have played a more significant role yet it was dealt with within mere minutes. There were quite a few casualties, but unfortunately, they didn’t carry much weight since they all occurred behind the scenes. (more…)
It’s nice that the side characters are getting some more screen time, but I can’t help but feel the pacing is far too slow. I personally dislike all of the explanations on how their magic was being used. Unless it’s critical for the story later on, I feel like they could cut back on it a bit. With each arc being 6+ episodes, it feels like we’re moving at a snails pace. Hopefully we get into the mirage bat matches in the next episode since we’ve had so much build up for it. (more…)
The spring 2014 anime season has passed by rather quickly. We’re already in the second last week for many shows. This season definitely had quite a few surprises along with some disappointments but overall I’d say it was a great season. This week I’ll share my thoughts on No Game No Life episode 11, Nobunaga the Fool episode 23, and Isshuukan Friends episode 11.
